There’s been a big brouhaha here in the UK of late over the government’s recent plans to enforce minimum pricing on booze in an effort to put a mockers on the country’s apparent raging alcohol abuse.
To put the proposed plan (and associated diatribe) into perspective, the Guardian newspaper’s Datablog commissioned the data agency, Assosia, to collate current off-trade prices and exactly what effects the new bill would actually have… And the collated results suggest the answer is: not much.
Go take a quick look for yourself. And if you’re a design-type, then we’d love for someone to work the data into a useful infographic for the less-numerical or among us. (Or those with real jobs that prevent them working through the figures themselves.)
